In the reigns of the Chenghua emperors, Chinese porcelains touched greatness. The body shows flowless preparation, and the most outstanding features is the glaze, which is smooth, deep, and unctuous; the Chenghua glaze, in particular, has a mellow, creamy or slightly smoky tinge. Some enthusiasts claim that the finest porcelains in Chinese long ceramic history were produced during the period. This exhibition featuring six porcelains from Chenghua period, presents a series type of mediums, including Blue and White, Copper-Red, and Doucai.
